Meet the founders

Dion Fleming

Founder & CEO
dion@dgfgroup.nz

Born and bred in the Manawatū, Dion grew up in arable farming surrounded by agricultural contracting so it was natural that he would continue his grandfathers and fathers legacy in the Grain industry.

Alongside hands-on farming experience, Dion spent two and a half years in rural real estate with Bayleys, further strengthening his understanding of the agricultural sector and rural communities.

Dion has represented the arable sector both regionally and nationally with Federated Farmers and has served on the Arable Research Group for the Foundation for Arable Research (FAR), contributing to industry development and advocacy.

Outside of work, Dion is married to Gennavieve and is a proud father of four: Levi, Tayla, Zane and Ollie. He also volunteered for eight years with his local Search and Rescue team. In his spare time Dion enjoys hunting, fishing, or getting out on the boat.

Gennavieve

Director

Born and raised in the Manawatū, Gennavieve grew up on a small lifestyle block in Linton. With over 20 years’ experience in banking and finance as a registered financial advisor specialisinge in lending, she brings a strong commercial foundation to DGF Group. Over the past 13 years, she has expanded her agricultural knowledge, immersing herself in the arable sector, learning maize production, grain drying, and the feed production.

Within the business, Gennavieve is the numbers person, managing budgets, forecasts, and mapping out how to achieve the company’s long-term goals. Dion often jokes that he has to clear things with the “Minister of Finance,” but she enjoys finding practical ways to turn ideas into action.

Outside of work, Gennavieve enjoys relaxing with friends and family, often with country music playing loudly courtesy of Dion or the kids.
